AI master toggle

Turn every AI feature in your tenant off (or back on) from one switch. Useful for compliance reviews, board demos, or when your API budget is up.

Who this is for: the Owner only (Owner decision 2026-10-12). An Admin, a ChAImp support session and everyone else see Settings → Organization → AI with the note “Owner only: only the Owner can turn AI on or off, choose the provider and model, and set the AI key.” instead of the switch.

Steps

Open Settings → Organization → AI.
At the top is the AI features master toggle.
Off = every AI surface in your tenant goes quiet:
- The AI draft button in Email Campaigns hides.
- Contact triage stops auto-tagging incoming submissions.
- Template AI drafting goes back to “pick a template” only.
On = back to normal. AI runs on ChAImp’s own provider account — no API key to supply.

What you’ll see

Common issues

Some AI button still appears with toggle off — refresh the browser; the toggle reads from a context that may be cached for a few seconds.
An AI feature says “AI is disabled for this organization. Turn it on in Settings → Organization → AI.” — exactly what it says: the master toggle is off, and the message names where it is. (Before v1.654 the message named a Settings tab that does not exist; the toggle has always been at Settings → Organization → AI.) Earlier releases answered this with “An unexpected error occurred”, which named nothing you could act on; as of v1.359 every AI surface returns the sentence above instead.
Toggle is on but AI is refused — your plan may not include an AI allowance, or the monthly allowance is used up. Upgrade, wait for the reset, or contact ChAImp. The message names which of the two it is.
