Building a report

Same flow as admin → Building & pinning — replicated here for the modules-side reader.

Who this is for: Editor / Admin / Owner with reports.manage.

Steps

  1. Reports → + New report.
  2. Dataset — Requests, Events, Volunteers, Engagements, Campaigns.
  3. Chart type — Bar / Line / Pie / Number / Map (replaced the previous “Heatmap” in v1.51).
  4. Group by — time column (with bucket — day/week/month/year) or category column.
  5. Breakdown — optional second category that splits each group.
  6. Measure — usually count; sum of <column> for numeric columns.
  7. Filters — date range, status, etc.
  8. Name + Description.
  9. Pin to dashboard (checkbox).
  10. Save.

Common issues

  • Empty preview — filters too narrow or no data in the chosen group-by; widen the date range.
  • Map chart for Requests but the bubbles cluster in the wrong place — the rows have geocoded lat/lng, but to a city centroid (not the exact address). See Map reports for the backfill story.
