Recipient snapshots
A recipient snapshot is a frozen list of who-receives-what, captured at compose time. The alternative is to re-evaluate “who matches the filter” at send time.
Who this is for: anyone composing campaigns that don’t go out immediately.
When to snapshot
- You’re scheduling a send for the future and want to know exactly who’ll get it. New signups between now and send won’t be included.
- You’re A/B testing — the two cells of the test need to be deterministic populations.
- Compliance wants a record of who exactly was emailed when.
When NOT to snapshot
- Recurring newsletter that’s defined by a query (“all marketing-tier contacts”) — you want new opt-ins to be picked up automatically.
- Drip sequence triggered by an action — the audience is per-trigger, not per-campaign.
Steps
- In the composer, find the Snapshot recipients toggle.
- On — the recipient list freezes when you click Save / Schedule.
- Off (default) — the list re-evaluates at send time.

Common issues
- Schedule a send, audience changed when fired — snapshot was off. The audience re-evaluated at send time.
- Want to see who’s in a snapshot before sending — click View recipients in the composer; the table is the frozen list.
