Running a template

Generate an engagement document from a template + the engagement’s metadata. AI fills the variables.

Who this is for: Editor / Admin / Owner with templates.manage.

Steps

  1. Open the Engagement the document should attach to.
  2. + Generate document on a deliverable, OR Templates → Run for a one-off.
  3. Pick a template — System (provided by CartonCrew) or Custom (yours).
  4. Review the inputs: most fields auto-fill from the engagement; tweak any.
  5. Generate. CartonCrew runs the template + AI; takes ~30s.
  6. The generated document opens in a preview pane. Edit inline.
  7. Save to attach to the engagement.

Common issues

  • No templates listed — your tenant doesn’t have any seeded yet. System templates seed on first run of the Templates extension; trigger by toggling it off + on in Settings → Extensions.
  • Generated document is empty / nonsense — AI master toggle off, or the template inputs were empty. Fill the engagement’s description first.
