Including your logo

Put your organization’s logo at the very top of a newsletter, so the email reads as yours the moment it opens.

Who this is for: anyone composing a campaign.

Steps

  1. Open Email Campaigns → + New campaign.
  2. The first control on the form is Include organization logo. It is ticked by default.
  3. Leave it ticked to send with the header; untick it for a send that should carry no header (the body goes out exactly as you wrote it).
  4. The Email preview on the right shows the header above your message as soon as the box is ticked, and drops it when you untick.
  5. Send test to me and the real send both carry the same header the preview showed.

The header is the only thing the two sends share. The test goes out from the transactional sender and carries no reply-to; the real campaign goes from the broadcast sender. Use the test to check how the email looks, not who it appears to come from or where a reply would land.

What goes out

When the box is ticked and your organization has a logo on file, the sent HTML starts with a header block:

  • your logo, centered, no taller than 64px, with your organization’s name as its alt text;
  • linked to your public site;
  • a thin rule under it, then your message unchanged.

Your message body is stored exactly as you wrote it. The header is composed at send time from the logo in Settings → Organization → Branding — it is never written into the campaign, so changing the logo later changes what future sends carry without touching any draft.

Prerequisite: a logo in Settings

The header uses the logo from Settings → Organization → Branding and nothing else. If your organization has no logo, the checkbox is disabled with a hint linking to Settings; sends still work and go out without a header. See Branding.

The logo must be served over https://. A logo uploaded through Settings always is; if the stored address is anything else the header is omitted rather than sent broken.

Common issues

  • Checkbox is greyed out — no logo on file. Upload one in Settings → Organization → Branding, then reopen the campaign.
  • I unticked it but the preview still shows a logo — that is an image inside your message body, not the header. The header sits above the body and disappears the moment the box is unticked.
  • The header shows a different logo than I expect — it is the logo currently in Settings → Organization → Branding, read at send time. Update it there.
