Federal & State Grants
Surface relevant federal funding opportunities from Grants.gov , matched to your mission, then push the good ones into your Grant Tracker pipeline. (This extension was previously called “Federal Grants”.)
Who this is for: admins and fundraising staff in an org with the Federal & State Grants extension enabled. The Grants.gov public API is free to use.
What’s here
| Area | What it does | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery feed | Matched opportunities scored for relevance, with deadlines and award ranges. | Federal & State Grants in the sidebar |
| Funding filters | The CFDA / funding categories used to match opportunities to your work. | Settings → Federal & State Grants |
| Your grant sources | Your own list of foundations, state portals, and newsletters you check beyond the automated sync. | Settings → Federal & State Grants |
Key things it does
- Daily pull from the Grants.gov federal API.
- Relevance scoring per opportunity; filter by category, sort by relevance / deadline / award amount.
- Tabs for Active, Updated (changed since last review), and Dismissed opportunities; dismiss with a reason.
- Admin Run sync now to refresh on demand.
- Push to pipeline to add a matched opportunity into Grant Tracker.
- Export the matched set to CSV/Excel or save to your cloud drive.
Your grant sources
Track the funding sources you check by hand — family foundations, state grant
portals, newsletters — alongside the automated feed. In
Settings → Federal & State Grants, the Your grant sources card lets
admins add a source (name + optional link), edit it inline, or
remove it. Links must be regular http(s) URLs.
These are reference entries for your team; they don’t feed the automated matching (the discovery feed still pulls federal opportunities from Grants.gov only).
Planned
Automated syncing from state / local sources (including Socrata open-data portals) into the discovery feed is a planned enhancement.
