First-hour setup

What to do the very first time you sign in to a new CartonCrew tenant. Total time ~30 minutes.

Who this is for: the first admin on a brand-new tenant.

Steps

  1. Sign in as the Owner that ChAImp gave you. Set up MFA — Owner accounts MUST have it.
  2. Open Settings. The top tabs are Organization, Extensions, Recent Activity (plus extension-specific tabs once enabled, and About last). The org/account settings — Branding, Users, Billing, Domain, AI, Data — all live as a sub-nav inside the Organization tab.
  3. Open Settings → Organization → Branding:
    • Upload your logo (PNG/SVG, ~200KB).
    • Pick your primary color (used on buttons + accent).
    • Set the Org name and the display style (e.g. ALL CAPS).
  4. Open Settings → Organization → Users:
    • Click Invite for each teammate.
    • Pick a Role (Owner / Admin / Editor / Viewer) and tick the relevant capabilities (each module has its own toggle).
    • They’ll get an email with a magic-link to set up their account.
  5. Open Settings → Extensions:
    • The Core extensions are always on.
    • Toggle on the ones your org actually uses (Website CMS, Events, Volunteers, Email Campaigns, Reports, etc).
    • Some extensions are self-serve; others are consultancy (request a quote from ChAImp). Once enabled, some extensions add their own Settings tab (e.g. Fundraising, Org Profile, Federal & State Grants, Cloud Drive).
  6. Open Settings → Organization → AI:
    • Add an API key if you’ll use AI drafting / triage features.
    • The master toggle at the top lets you turn AI off org-wide later — useful for compliance reviews.
  7. Land back on the Dashboard. You’ll see panels for the extensions you enabled — Events, Reports, etc.
  8. Open the Website CMS module (if enabled) and configure your public site — see Website CMS docs.

Common issues

  • Logo looks fuzzy — upload a PNG or SVG at 2× the size you want displayed. Vercel + Supabase Storage will serve it; CartonCrew doesn’t resize.
  • Invited user can’t sign in — the magic link expires after 7 days. From Settings → Organization → Users, click their row → Resend invite.
  • An extension you wanted is missing — it’s in the catalog but available (not self-serve). Click it → Request quote to start the consultancy conversation with ChAImp.
