Previewing emails

In-app render of how the email will look to a recipient — with substitutions applied.

Who this is for: anyone composing a campaign.

Steps

  1. In the composer, click Preview.
  2. CartonCrew picks one recipient from the current list and substitutes their fields.
  3. Use the dropdown above the preview to switch which recipient is being substituted in.
  4. Close to return to the composer.

Common issues

  • Preview looks different from what I see in my inbox — CartonCrew uses sanitize-html on the body; some HTML you pasted in is stripped. Markdown is the safer source-of-truth.
  • Substitutions show “(missing)” — that recipient has the field empty. The send-time value is the helper’s fallback string.
