Requesting a consultancy extension

Some extensions need ChAImp to do work before they can run — an integration, configuration, or a review. These are never switched on in the app. Instead, an Owner or Admin requests one from its card, and ChAImp scopes and quotes it before any work starts.

Who this is for: an Owner or an Admin. Editors, Viewers and every other role see the card but not the Request button.

What the card shows

  • Request — this extension is delivered by ChAImp. An Owner or Admin clicks it to ask for it. Everyone else sees “Delivered by ChAImp. Ask an Owner or Admin to request it.”
  • Enabled for this organization. Contact support to make changes. — ChAImp has already switched it on for you. You cannot turn it off from the card.
  • A status badge — Requested, In delivery, Live or Declined — when a request is already on file for your organization, with the date it was made. While it reads Requested, an Owner or Admin sees Cancel request beside the date, which withdraws it.

Asking for one

  1. Open Settings → Extensions and find the extension’s card.
  2. Click Request. A window opens with the extension’s description and its two-part pricing: the ChAImp consultancy fee and any service provider cost.
  3. Optionally, under “Anything specific to mention?”, add what you need it for, integrations, or a deadline.
  4. Click Send request. You see “Requested:” followed by the extension’s name, and the card now shows the Requested badge.

The request is for your own organization only — it is filed against the organization you are signed in to, and nothing on the form can name another. ChAImp support is told about it straight away and replies by email to scope it. Nothing is switched on, and nothing is charged, until you agree the quote. If it goes ahead, ChAImp switches it on for your organization, and its card then reads “Enabled for this organization.”

Requesting does not change your plan. A self-serve extension your plan does not include has no Request button — see Browsing the catalog.

Common issues

  • I do not see a Request button — you are not an Owner or Admin. Ask one of them to request it.
  • I want to change what I asked for — click Cancel request, then Request again with the new notes; or reply to ChAImp’s email.
  • The extension is self-serve but my Enable click was refused — it is not in your plan. See Browsing the catalog.
