Bridge settings

One switch decides whether a contact message that looks like a gift request is only flagged, or also turned into a request on its own.

Who this is for: Owner / Admin. The panel shows only when both Contact Inbox and Request Manager are on.

The switch

At the top of Contact, under the Messages heading, is the Contact → Requests bridge panel with one checkbox: Auto-convert.

  • Off (the default) — messages that look like gift requests are flagged with a Convert to request button, and a person decides.
  • On — a flagged message is also converted automatically when AI is at least as confident as the threshold the panel names (85% unless it has been changed).

Ticking or unticking it saves at once (“Auto-convert is on.” / “Auto-convert is off.”); there is no separate save. You cannot turn it on while Request Manager is off.

Only an Owner or Admin can change it. Anyone else who can see the panel sees the checkbox greyed out, with “Only an admin or owner can change this.” under it. If a change is refused, the page says so (“Only an organization admin or owner can change the Auto-convert setting. Nothing was saved.”) and the checkbox stays as it was.

There is no threshold control, no automatic reply, and no reply-style setting on this panel. The threshold is shown, not edited here. CartonCrew never emails the sender when a message is converted; if you want to acknowledge it, reply yourself (see Triaging submissions).

What you’ll see

Common issues

  • Auto-convert too aggressive — untick Auto-convert and convert by hand. The threshold cannot be changed from this panel.
  • The panel is missing — Request Manager is off, or you do not hold the Request Manager capability.
  • The checkbox is greyed out — you are not an Owner or Admin. Ask one of them to change it.
