AI drafting

Ask Claude to write a first draft of a campaign body. Edit before sending.

Who this is for: anyone composing a campaign. Requires AI master toggle on + API key.

Steps

  1. In the campaign composer, click AI draft.
  2. The AI Draft modal opens. Fill:
    • What’s the email about? — a one-sentence prompt.
    • Tone — e.g. “warm, casual” vs “concise, formal”.
    • Length — Short / Medium / Long.
  3. Generate. Claude writes a draft in the modal.
  4. Use this draft — inserts into the body. Edit it; don’t ship verbatim.

Common issues

  • “AI not configured” — Settings → AI; add the API key + ensure master toggle is on.
  • Draft is generic — your prompt was too short. Add the audience (“first-time donors”, “lapsed volunteers”) and the call to action.
  • Want to regenerate without losing your edits — copy your edits to a scratch space first, then re-open AI draft.
